Before The Merch Planet existed, Thommy and Jack spent years working inside other print shops—learning the craft, running presses, managing orders, and seeing firsthand where the industry kept falling short. Missed deadlines. Outsourced work. Inconsistent quality. Too many middlemen. Customers paying more while getting less.

They knew there had to be a better way.

So they decided to build it themselves.

The Merch Planet started with two friends, a manual screen printing press, and a shared belief that if you control the production, you can control the outcome. In the early days, everything was hands-on. Shirts were printed one at a time. Long nights were common. Every mistake was a lesson. That manual phase wasn't glamorous—but it was foundational. It taught them the details that matter and the standards they refused to compromise on.

As demand grew, they reinvested everything back into the shop. The first major milestone was upgrading to their first automatic screen printing press. That move wasn't about chasing scale—it was about consistency, efficiency, and the ability to support larger, repeat orders without cutting corners.

Customers kept asking for more, so the business kept growing—intentionally. The next step was purchasing their first embroidery machine, which quickly turned into a full embroidery department as uniform programs, hats, and premium apparel became a core need. Each expansion was driven by real customer problems they wanted to solve, not services they wanted to simply add.

From there, fulfillment, inventory management, online stores, and reorder systems followed—built to support ongoing merch and uniform programs instead of one-off jobs. The goal stayed the same: eliminate friction, remove middlemen, and give customers a single partner they could rely on.

Today, The Merch Planet operates out of Hendersonville, Tennessee as a fully in-house merch, uniform, and fulfillment company serving brands across the U.S. Everything is produced, managed, and shipped under one roof—because Thommy and Jack saw what happens when it isn't.

The Merch Planet wasn't built overnight. It was built step by step—manual press to automation, one embroidery machine to full departments—earning every stage of growth along the way.
